Stamping is both simple and fun provided you know how to choose your materials well. But before you can come up with quality products, you need to master the stamping techniques and also learn the stamping procedures that can save you time.
Here are some time-saving tips and stamping ideas for you:
Paper crafting and stamping are a great hobby to have. But just as in life, things may not always go perfectly. As you begin, choose stamps which can be used in a variety of ways. And as you discover your area of special interest, you can add different types of paper, more stamps, accessories and supplies. Before you start stamping, ensure that you have a good solid surface. Some thin chipboard, a couple of pieces of paper or a magazine will give your stamping surface protection. To ink large stamps easily and faster, place them on raised pads and move them around over the surface. You can also lay the stamp face up on the table then apply the pad to the stamp. This will save you a lot of time.
Cleaning your stamps
When changing colors, it is a good idea to get into the habit of cleaning your stamps after each use. The best method to clean your stamps is to use a bottle of stamp cleaner with roll-on applicator top or a scrubber. The cleaner is supposed to be applied directly to the stamp after which it is scrubbed off onto a household sponge and then the stamp is blotted dry using a paper towel. When cleaning your rubber stamps, do not soak them in water as this will loosen the adhesive.
Inks and Stamp Pads
To keep the surface fully ink and prevent uneven ink distribution, always store your stamp pads level upside down. You also need to clean your stamps when changing colors to prevent the stamp pads from becoming muddy. Clean the stamp as thoroughly as possible and do not waste a lot of time trying to remove all the stain to the last mark. This is because the little stain does not affect the stamp quality of your stamp. However, if you always use the same color of ink with a stamp, there is no need to clean it. Remember to re-ink your pad only with the same color and the same brand of ink with which it was filled when it was new.
On June 6th, I held my annual Open House to launch the new catalog. Everyone had a great time with the Make-n-Takes. Each one made a note card using the new in-color card stock 24 sheets for $7.00 and envelope to match using the new envelope paper 20 sheets of 12 x 12 for $6.00. You can get the envelope paper either in neutrals or in color. And of course they were using the new in-color ink pads to do their stamping.
Prizes were given from periodic drawings and the eats weren’t too bad either…Each attendee received their FREE catalog and if you were not able to attend and want your FREE catalog, just leave me a message and I will definitely get the ball rolling on your request.
So many of the products in the new catalog of course are gotta haves! Like the Bohemian DSP #138446 $11.00 and matching card stock #139003 $7.00. Here is a sample card I made with it:
And the Bow makers. To make the two larger size bows you will need the Gift Bow Die Cut #129977 $33.00 that fits into the Big Shot #113439 $110.00. And the small bow is made with the Bow Builder Punch #137414 $18.00 Notice the little bow on card above.
Another great product is the new Gift Bag Punch Board #135862 $20.00. This is awesome for making favors and paper crafting items for craft fairs or to package a special gift. Here is a bag I made with it. I should have done a little decorating, but I believe I missed the boat on that one.
